The Phoenix Suns are heading into the final stretch of the regular season with growing concerns about their offense. With only one game left before the NBA Play-In tournament, the team has struggled to find its scoring rhythm, and Dillon Brooks’ recent cold streak has added to the challenge.

Brooks recently returned from injury, but he has not yet regained the scoring form he showed earlier in the season.

Dillon Brooks Still Finding Rhythm After Injury

Dillon Brooks missed several games after suffering a fractured hand. Since returning, he has played six games but has not produced the same scoring numbers he recorded before the injury.

In those six games, Brooks has averaged:

    StatLast 6 Games
    Points per game14.5
    Rebounds per game3.3
    Assists per game1.8
    Minutes per game28.5
    Field-goal percentage38.6%
    Three-point percentage35.7%
    Three-point attempts4.7 per game

Earlier in the season, Brooks was far more productive offensively. Before his injury, he averaged 21.2 points per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three-point range.

Another noticeable change has been his playing style. Brooks has been driving to the basket less frequently since returning. His drives per game have dropped from 8.4 before the All-Star break to around 6.0 during his recent stretch. Fewer drives have meant fewer free-throw opportunities and fewer chances to reach his preferred mid-range scoring spots.

Suns’ Offense Struggling Late in the Season

The Suns’ overall offensive performance has declined during the second half of the season.

Since the All-Star break, Phoenix has struggled to maintain a winning record and has had difficulty against strong opponents. The team has gone 1-9 in its last 10 games against teams with winning records.

Recent shooting numbers show how difficult scoring has been for the team.

    Team Shooting (Last 6 Games)Ranking / Percentage
    Field-goal percentage43.4% (29th in NBA)
    Three-point percentage31.8% (28th in NBA)

These numbers show that Phoenix has been one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league during this stretch.

    Roster Changes Affecting Offensive Chemistry

Another factor behind the offensive slowdown is the recent return of several players from injury.

Mark Williams has returned to the lineup, and Jalen Green is also back after missing time. Their return has given head coach Jordan Ott a fully healthy roster for the first time this season.

While that is positive for the team long term, it has also created adjustments in offensive roles. Players are still trying to find rhythm and chemistry as they adapt to the updated rotation.

    Defense Still Keeping Phoenix Competitive

Despite the offensive struggles, Phoenix has continued to perform well defensively.

The Suns’ defense has remained among the league’s top ten during the recent stretch of games. That defensive effort has helped keep the team competitive even when the offense has slowed down.

However, strong defense alone may not be enough in the Play-In tournament if the team continues to struggle with shooting.

    Key Updates for the Suns

Mark WilliamsBack in the lineup, contributing to a fully healthy roster

With the postseason approaching, Phoenix will need its offense to improve quickly.

Brooks finding his scoring touch again could play a major role in that improvement. More aggressive drives to the basket and better shooting from the perimeter could help restore the offensive balance the team showed earlier in the season.

If the Suns can regain their rhythm before the Play-In tournament begins, they may still have a chance to turn their season around. If the struggles continue, however, Phoenix could face a difficult path in the postseason.
