Knicks vs Cavs Game 4 Prediction: Last Games, Injury Report, Player Stats, H2H & Best Picks NBA 26 May, 2026

The Eastern Conference Finals have turned completely in favor of the New York Knicks, and now the pressure is entirely on the Cleveland Cavaliers heading into Game 4. New York has taken a commanding 3-0 lead in the series and is now just one victory away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999. What has made this series even more surprising is not only the Knicks winning games, but the way they have controlled almost every important moment on both ends of the floor.

Cleveland entered the postseason looking like one of the deepest and most balanced teams in the Eastern Conference, but against New York they have struggled to defend consistently, failed to match the Knicks’ physicality, and completely lost momentum late in games. Jalen Brunson continues to play like one of the best guards in basketball, while the Knicks role players have elevated their performances at the perfect time. Cleveland now faces elimination on its home floor, and despite having talented scorers like Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, the Cavaliers need a massive response to avoid a disappointing sweep. With both teams understanding the importance of this matchup, Game 4 should once again deliver playoff-level intensity from the opening possession.

    Detailed Match Analysis

The biggest difference in this series has been New York’s ability to stay composed during every important stretch of the game. Cleveland has had moments where the offense looked effective, especially early in games, but the Knicks consistently respond with better defensive intensity and smarter execution late in quarters.

Jalen Brunson has completely controlled the pace of the series. Cleveland has tried multiple defensive matchups against him, but nothing has worked consistently. Whether attacking in isolation, creating space in pick-and-roll situations, or drawing help defenders before kicking the ball out, Brunson has made every correct decision.

Mikal Bridges has quietly become one of the most important players in the matchup. Cleveland continues trying to hide weaker defenders on him, but Bridges is attacking mismatches aggressively and finishing efficiently both in transition and in half-court sets.

Another major problem for Cleveland has been perimeter defense. The Cavaliers are allowing New York too many open looks from deep, while their own three-point shooting has completely disappeared at critical moments. In Game 3, Cleveland shot below 30% from three-point range, and that has become a recurring issue throughout the series.

The Cavaliers also appear mentally frustrated. Several late-game possessions in the previous matchup showed poor communication, transition breakdowns, and lack of urgency defensively. Against a disciplined Knicks team, those mistakes become extremely costly.

Still, this is an elimination game, and Cleveland should play with much more desperation. Donovan Mitchell is expected to take on a massive offensive role again, while Evan Mobley remains one of the few Cavaliers consistently producing efficiently in the paint.

The challenge for Cleveland is that New York currently has answers for almost everything. The Knicks are winning the rebounding battle, defending the perimeter better, moving the ball more effectively, and getting contributions from nearly every rotation player.

That complete team balance is why New York now looks like a genuine championship contender.

Why the Knicks Have Dominated the Series

    Elite Defensive Pressure

New York’s perimeter defenders have consistently disrupted Cleveland’s offensive rhythm.

    Better Bench Production

Players like Landry Shamet and the second unit have delivered important scoring bursts.

    Clutch Execution

The Knicks have controlled fourth quarters throughout the series.

    Offensive Efficiency

New York continues shooting efficiently from both the field and beyond the arc.

    Predicted Score

    TeamScore
    New York Knicks116
    Cleveland Cavaliers109

The Cavaliers are running out of answers in this series. Even though Donovan Mitchell continues fighting offensively, Cleveland has not been able to consistently defend New York’s balanced attack. The Knicks are playing with confidence, chemistry, and elite defensive discipline, while every rotation player seems comfortable in their role. Jalen Brunson has completely controlled the tempo of the series, and Mikal Bridges continues punishing Cleveland’s defensive matchups. The Cavaliers may compete harder in Game 4 because of the elimination pressure, but right now New York simply looks like the stronger, deeper, and mentally tougher team. Unless Cleveland suddenly fixes its perimeter defense and outside shooting, the Knicks are in a strong position to finish the sweep and book their place in the NBA Finals.
