A dramatic moment unfolded in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 quarterfinal as Punjab captain Prabhsimran Singh missed out on a well-deserved century by just one run. The turning point came when Saransh Jain pulled off a sensational one-handed catch, leaving the packed stadium stunned.

The high-pressure knockout match between Punjab cricket team and Madhya Pradesh cricket team is being played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground, with a semifinal spot on the line.

    Momentum Shifts After Key Dismissal

Madhya Pradesh, after winning the toss, posted a competitive total of 278 for 8 in 50 overs. Their innings was anchored by fluent half-centuries, putting Punjab under scoreboard pressure.

Punjab’s chase started on a positive note, led by Prabhsimran Singh’s aggressive yet controlled batting. He dominated the bowling, finding boundaries regularly and rotating strike well. However, on 99, he attempted to hit over the in-field when Saransh Jain reacted instantly, twisting his body and completing a sharp reflex catch off his own bowling.

The dismissal broke Punjab’s strong momentum and lifted Madhya Pradesh at a crucial stage of the match.
