Solomon Miller Gets NFL Opportunity at Patriots Local Pro Day: Brown University wide receiver Solomon Miller described his experience at the New England Patriots’ local pro day as a dream moment in his football journey. The event gave him the chance to work out in front of NFL coaches and take another step toward a professional career.

The workout took place at Gillette Stadium and allowed Miller to meet members of the Patriots coaching staff, including head coach Mike Vrabel.

Patriots Invite Prospects to Local Pro Day

On April 7, the New England Patriots hosted a local pro day at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. The team invited 27 college prospects to participate in the workout session.

Miller was one of five wide receivers who attended the event. The other receivers included Ty Pezza, Noah Short from Army, Eamonn Dennis from Ohio, and Jack Morvan from Nichols.

Meeting coach Mike Vrabel was a special moment for Miller. He said that speaking with an NFL head coach face-to-face felt like a dream and showed him how far his hard work had taken him.

    College Career at Brown University

During his college career at Brown University, Miller played four seasons and steadily improved his performance.

In his most recent season, he recorded career highs with 34 receptions and 359 receiving yards while scoring two touchdowns.

Over the course of his career, Miller became the 34th player in Brown football history to reach more than 1,000 career receiving yards.

Miller said his time at Brown was important for both his athletic and academic growth. He explained that the university allowed him to compete in high-level football while also receiving a strong education.

    Speed from Track and Field

Miller is not only a football player but also a talented sprinter. His track speed has played a major role in his development as a wide receiver.

At the Ocean State Cup on April 4, he ran the 100 meters in 10.67 seconds. That time ranks among the top ten performances in Brown track history.

He believes his track experience has helped him become a faster and more effective route runner on the football field.

Miller continues to train regularly, often working out with his roommate and teammate Ty Pezza at Brown’s indoor turf facility.

    Patriots Evaluating Wide Receiver Depth

The Patriots used their local pro day to evaluate players at positions where they may need additional depth.

The team currently has several receivers entering contract years, including Mack Hollins, Kayshon Boutte, and DeMario Douglas.

Because of these upcoming contract situations, the team is looking closely at young talent that could contribute in future seasons.

Patriots History with Local Pro Day Players

The Patriots have previously signed players who impressed during local pro day workouts.

Last year, offensive guards Jack Conley from Boston College and Cole Birdow from Merrimack both signed undrafted free agent contracts after participating in local workouts.

Edge rusher Hector Johnson from Endicott also received an invitation to rookie minicamp after attending a similar event.

The Patriots also attended Brown’s on-campus pro day earlier this year, which was the first event of its kind in the program’s history. Scouts from the Tennessee Titans were also present, giving Miller another opportunity to showcase his abilities.

Solomon Miller hopes the workout at Gillette Stadium will lead to more opportunities during the NFL evaluation process.

He plans to continue training through the spring and summer while waiting for potential invitations to rookie camps or training camps.

Miller knows the journey to the NFL is competitive, but he remains confident that his hard work on the field and track can help him earn a professional chance.
