Detroit sports fans will soon have a new destination to watch their favorite teams. Ilitch Sports + Entertainment has officially announced the launch of Detroit SportsNet (DSN), a year-round broadcast and streaming platform that will carry games for both the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings.

The new network comes after both teams decided to move away from their previous regional television partner. Detroit SportsNet is expected to give fans a more direct and flexible way to follow games across multiple platforms.

Tigers Games to Air on DSN Starting in 2026

The transition will begin with the 2026 Detroit Tigers season, which will stream through the MLB App. Fans will be able to watch games on web, mobile devices, and connected TVs, along with access to highlights, statistics, and league updates.

The launch also includes a special introductory period. Fans who subscribe between March 2 and March 22 will be able to stream games at no cost until April 1, including Opening Day and several early regular-season matchups.

The Tigers enter this new broadcast partnership with strong momentum, following a season that saw major growth in viewership and fan engagement.

Red Wings to Join in 2026–27 Season

Detroit Red Wings broadcasts will continue on FanDuel Sports Network through the end of the 2025–26 season. The team’s games will officially move to Detroit SportsNet beginning with the 2026–27 NHL season.

Details on how Red Wings games will be streamed through DSN are expected later, with more information scheduled to be released in the coming months.

The network plans to expand distribution through cable and satellite providers across Michigan once agreements are finalized.

    Subscription Plans and Pricing Details

Detroit SportsNet will offer two streaming options for local fans:

    • Monthly Plan: $19.99
    • Annual Plan: $189.99 (more than 20% savings compared to monthly billing)

Fans who choose the annual plan during the introductory period will get extended access through the Tigers season and into the early part of the Red Wings’ transition period.

    Familiar Broadcast Voices to Remain

The move to a new network will not change the familiar voices that fans know.

For the Tigers, Jason Benetti and Dan Dickerson will continue on play-by-play duties, supported by analysts Andy Dirks and Dan Petry.

For the Red Wings, longtime broadcast team Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond will remain part of the coverage when the team joins DSN.

The launch of Detroit SportsNet marks a major shift in how local sports will be delivered. With direct streaming access, flexible subscription plans, and expanded digital coverage, the new platform aims to make watching Detroit teams easier and more accessible.

More details about cable availability and additional features are expected to be announced soon. As the Tigers prepare to open the 2026 season on DSN, Detroit SportsNet is set to become the central hub for the city’s baseball and hockey fans.
