Hall of Fame pitcher to become the 24th Yankees icon honored in franchise history

The New York Yankees have announced that legendary left-hander CC Sabathia will have his iconic No. 52 jersey retired on September 26, 2026. The ceremony will take place at Yankee Stadium before the team’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, where Sabathia will also receive a permanent plaque in Monument Park.

This honor marks another major milestone in Sabathia’s remarkable baseball journey, coming just one year after his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
