Former Syracuse QB Rex Culpepper Dies at 28: The football world is mourning the loss of Rex Culpepper, a former Syracuse University quarterback and the son of former NFL defensive lineman Brad Culpepper, who passed away at the age of 28.

Culpepper died after suffering severe injuries in a dirt bike accident in Georgia over the weekend. The heartbreaking news was confirmed on Monday by both his family and Syracuse University.

His fiancée Savanna Morgan shared an emotional message announcing his death, describing their six-year relationship and remembering him as a loving partner who lived life with passion and curiosity.

Rex Culpepper’s passing has shocked the college football community, with tributes pouring in from fans, teammates, and the Syracuse football program.

    Emotional Tribute From Fiancée

Savanna Morgan revealed the news through a deeply emotional message on social media.

She described Culpepper as someone who embraced life fully, always learning new skills, traveling, and spending every moment with loved ones.

According to her message, the couple had recently become engaged, making the loss even more devastating for family and friends.

She remembered him as a person who could do many things—athlete, musician, mechanic, and passionate learner—highlighting how unique his personality was.

    Syracuse University Mourns Former Quarterback

Syracuse University released a statement honoring Culpepper and remembering the courage he showed during his time with the program.

The university said the entire “Orange family” is deeply saddened by his passing and praised his determination both on and off the field.

Culpepper played for Syracuse from 2016 to 2020, appearing in multiple games and showing great resilience during his college career.

    Cancer Survivor Who Inspired Many

One of the most powerful chapters of Culpepper’s life came in March 2018, when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Despite undergoing chemotherapy, Culpepper showed incredible determination.

During Syracuse’s spring football game that same year, he entered the game on the final drive and led his team to a touchdown, even while still recovering from treatment.

Because of his courage and leadership, he received the Jim DaRin Courage Award, recognizing his inspirational comeback.

His fight against cancer made him a symbol of strength for teammates and fans alike.

Early Football Career and High School Success

Before joining Syracuse, Culpepper played high school football at Plant High School in Florida.

He was considered a promising quarterback prospect and built an impressive record during his prep career.
