A brilliant scoring performance from Jalen Green gave the Phoenix Suns a major lift as the Western Conference playoff race enters its crucial final stage of the season.

On March 28, 2026, Green delivered one of the most efficient scoring performances in team history during a game against the Utah Jazz. His explosive display helped Phoenix gain momentum while fighting to improve its position in the competitive Western Conference standings of the National Basketball Association.

    Green’s Historic Night in Phoenix

The 24-year-old guard produced a remarkable performance in Phoenix, scoring 31 points in only 22 minutes of playing time.

Green started quickly and took control of the game early.

    • First Half: 20 points
    • Third Quarter: 11 points

His ability to attack the defense, create space and finish scoring opportunities made it extremely difficult for Utah to slow him down.

This performance also created a new moment in franchise history.

Green became the first player in Suns history to score 30 or more points in 22 minutes or fewer.

He has shown similar explosive scoring before as well. Earlier in the season, he scored 29 points in just 22 minutes against the Los Angeles Clippers in November, highlighting his ability to take over games in short bursts.

    Improving Form After Injury

Earlier in the season, injuries forced Green to take on a bigger offensive role. As the season progressed, he has become more efficient with his scoring opportunities.

When Green attempts 20 or more shots in a game, his numbers show strong production.

His recent performances show even better form.

During the last three weeks, Green has attempted 20+ shots in six games and has shot above 50% in four of those contests.

After the game, Green shared that he feels thankful to be back on the court, although he is still working through recovery from a hamstring injury. He mentioned that his jumping ability — often called “the bounce” — is still improving as he continues regaining full fitness.

What This Means for the Suns’ Playoff Race

The Suns are entering the most important stretch of the season.

Phoenix currently sits 3.5 games behind the Houston Rockets for the Western Conference’s sixth seed, which would guarantee a direct playoff spot.

There are nine games remaining in the regular season, and the schedule will not be easy.

Houston will face four teams with winning records in its final nine games, including the important matchup against Phoenix.

Meanwhile, the Suns’ final stretch is also challenging. Five of their last eight opponents have winning records, making every game critical for playoff positioning.

Health Could Decide the Suns’ Finish

While Green’s scoring form is encouraging, Phoenix will also hope to see key players return from injury soon.

Players such as Dillon Brooks and Mark Williams could provide important support if they return to the lineup during the final weeks of the season.

If the Suns regain full health and Green continues his explosive scoring, the team could build strong momentum heading toward April and the postseason.

Jalen Green’s outstanding performance arrived at the perfect moment for the Suns. With the playoff race tightening and only a handful of games left in the regular season, every strong performance matters.

If Green continues playing at this level and Phoenix regains its injured players, the Suns could still push for a higher seed in the Western Conference and enter the playoffs with growing confidence.
