Five-time major champion Brooks Koepka is ready for another important step in his PGA Tour comeback as he tees off at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches. The tournament, scheduled from February 26 to March 1, marks his first appearance at PGA National’s Champion Course since 2022.

For Koepka, this is more than just another event. The Jupiter-based star will be playing in front of home fans at a course where he has previously delivered strong performances.

Part of His PGA Tour Comeback Journey

Koepka returned to the PGA Tour in January 2026 through the returning member program after stepping away from LIV Golf. The move signaled his intent to compete regularly again at the highest level.

His early results since returning have been mixed. He finished tied for 56th at the Farmers Insurance Open and missed the cut at the WM Phoenix Open. Despite the slow start, the 35-year-old remains focused on building rhythm and confidence.

When confirming his participation earlier this year, Koepka called the Cognizant Classic his hometown event and expressed excitement about competing in front of local supporters.

    Strong History at PGA National

Koepka has made seven starts at this venue and has never missed the cut. His best performance came in 2019 when he finished tied for second at 13-under.

He has recorded multiple top-16 finishes here, showing consistent comfort on one of the Tour’s more demanding courses.

    Current Form and Season Snapshot

While Koepka’s world ranking has dropped after his time away from the PGA Tour, he still possesses the power and experience that made him a former world No. 1.

    Driving Distance314.1 yards (21st)
Strokes Gained: Off the Tee-0.009 (82nd)
    Strokes Gained: Putting-2.116 (171st)

Improving his putting will be key if he hopes to contend this week.

    Focused Approach Without Pressure

Ahead of the tournament, Koepka made it clear that he is keeping expectations simple. He described the course as challenging but said playing at home gives him added comfort. His goal is to enjoy the competition and continue rebuilding his game step by step.

The event also carries added importance as he looks to improve his standing and qualify for more high-profile tournaments later in the season.

With strong course history, local support, and growing match fitness, the Cognizant Classic could be the turning point Koepka needs. A solid performance in Palm Beach would not only boost confidence but also signal that the former major champion is ready to compete again at a high level.

All eyes will be on the hometown star as he begins another chapter in his PGA Tour comeback.
