BCCI Pushes Domestic Participation
Most Indian internationals — including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant — have featured in the Vijay Hazare Trophy to meet domestic requirements.
The only major exception is Jasprit Bumrah, who has been rested due to workload management as India’s lead fast bowler.
Kohli, who has already played two matches, is expected to return for Delhi’s January 6 game. Pant, meanwhile, has committed to playing all Vijay Hazare Trophy matches for Delhi.
The presence of senior Indian players adds significant value to the Vijay Hazare Trophy, helping young domestic players gain experience alongside international stars. It also underlines the BCCI’s renewed focus on strengthening India’s domestic cricket structure.
