India have won the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars only once — in the very first edition of the tournament held in 2013. Since then, India have reached the final only once more (in 2023 as India A) but did not win the title again. In the latest 2025 edition, India did not reach the final, while Pakistan A lifted the trophy in a thrilling Super Over win against Bangladesh A.

The event, earlier known as the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, was rebranded to ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars from 2025 onwards. The tournament focuses on providing young and emerging Asian cricketers a strong competitive platform similar to international cricket.

India’s Performance in Asia Cup Rising Stars

India started the tournament’s history with a championship win in 2013, defeating Pakistan U23 comfortably.

After that, India reached the final in 2018 (as India U23) and 2023 (as India A), but finished as runners-up on both occasions.

India vs Pakistan Rivalry in the Rising Stars Tournament

India and Pakistan have met in two finals so far:

    Head-to-Head in Finals

    • 2013 Final: India beat Pakistan (India’s only title)
    • 2023 Final: Pakistan A beat India A

The rivalry remains one of the most exciting aspects of the Rising Stars tournament.

    Why the Tournament Matters

The ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars is a major platform for the next generation of Asian cricketers. Many tournament performers eventually break into their senior national teams.

The shift from U23 teams to A teams has strengthened the tournament, providing:

    • More experienced squads
    • Higher match intensity
    • Better preparation for international cricket

Conclusion: India Still Chasing Their Second Title

India won the inaugural edition in 2013 but have not lifted the trophy since. With Pakistan’s growing dominance and the competition getting tougher each year, India will be determined to return stronger and aim for their second title in future editions.

Fans continue to hope that India can replicate the glory of 2013 and make a deeper run in the upcoming tournaments.
