The Dallas Wings produced one of their strongest performances of the 2026 WNBA season after defeating the Chicago Sky 99-89 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The biggest story of the night was Jessica Shepard, who delivered a historic all-around performance and recorded a career-high triple-double.

Shepard controlled the game from start to finish with her passing, rebounding, and inside scoring. Alongside her, Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale also stepped up with major scoring performances as the Wings improved to 3-2 this season.

The win extended Dallas’ recent momentum and showed how dangerous the team can become when multiple stars contribute together.

Her 12 assists were a career-high and helped her complete one of the best all-around performances of the WNBA season so far.

Shepard’s impact was not only visible in the box score. She controlled the pace of the offense, created easy scoring chances for teammates, and dominated the pick-and-roll game with Paige Bueckers. Several moments in the second half completely shifted momentum toward Dallas because of her passing vision and decision-making.

The Wings heavily relied on her playmaking during the explosive third quarter where Dallas scored 34 points.

Paige Bueckers Continues Outstanding Rookie Campaign

Paige Bueckers once again looked calm and confident under pressure. The rookie guard led Dallas in scoring alongside Arike Ogunbowale and delivered another efficient shooting night.

Bueckers played a major role in the fourth quarter and made several clutch baskets whenever Chicago tried to close the gap. Her chemistry with Jessica Shepard became one of the biggest talking points after the game.

Dallas repeatedly used the Bueckers-Shepard pick-and-roll combination, and Chicago struggled to stop it throughout the night.

Arike Ogunbowale Explodes From Three-Point Range

Arike Ogunbowale delivered another star performance for Dallas. She finished with 23 points and hit four three-pointers, including huge shots late in the fourth quarter.

Her deep shooting gave Dallas complete control during the final minutes. Whenever the Sky tried building momentum, Ogunbowale answered immediately with big perimeter baskets.

    Dallas Wings Dominate Second Half

The game remained close during the first half as Chicago entered halftime with a narrow 38-37 lead. However, Dallas completely changed the game after halftime.

The Wings scored 62 points in the second half and overwhelmed Chicago with fast ball movement and efficient shooting.

Dallas outperformed the Sky in transition offense and also forced key defensive mistakes during crunch time.

Azzi Fudd Provides Strong Support Off the Ball

Azzi Fudd quietly delivered one of her most efficient games of the season. She scored 12 points while shooting 4-of-6 from the field and 2-of-2 from beyond the arc.

Her floor spacing helped create driving lanes for Bueckers and Ogunbowale. Fudd’s shooting became especially important during the third quarter run that helped Dallas take full control.

Li Yueru and Alanna Smith Add Valuable Frontcourt Depth

The Wings also received important contributions from their frontcourt rotation.

Kamilla Cardoso Keeps Chicago Sky Competitive

Despite the loss, Kamilla Cardoso delivered a massive performance for Chicago. The center finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 10-of-14 from the field.

Chicago stayed competitive because of Cardoso’s interior dominance, but Dallas’ balanced offense proved too strong in the second half.

Wings Climb in Western Conference Standings

The victory improved Dallas Wings’ record to 3-2 this season. The team now sits among the top sides in the Western Conference standings and has won two straight games.

The recent performances from Jessica Shepard, Paige Bueckers, and Arike Ogunbowale are giving Dallas strong momentum early in the season.

Jessica Shepard’s Performance Could Be a Turning Point

Jessica Shepard’s triple-double performance may become one of the defining moments of the Wings’ season. Her ability to impact every part of the game showed why Dallas can become a serious playoff contender.

With Bueckers leading the backcourt, Ogunbowale providing scoring firepower, and Shepard controlling the offense from the frontcourt, the Wings suddenly look like one of the most balanced teams in the league.

The chemistry between the core players continues improving game after game, and this latest victory over Chicago could be the start of a major run for Dallas in the 2026 WNBA season.
