The Golden State Warriors are still waiting for the return of their superstar guard Stephen Curry, who has now missed 17 consecutive games because of a knee injury. Head coach Steve Kerr recently admitted that there is no clear timeline yet for Curry’s comeback, leaving fans and the team hoping for positive news in the coming weeks.

Curry has been dealing with right knee pain and inflammation, often described as “runner’s knee.” While there are signs that he is improving, the Warriors are still taking a cautious approach to avoid further complications.

    Stephen Curry Injury Situation

Stephen Curry has been limited in the 2025–26 NBA season, playing only 39 games so far because of the knee issue. The injury forced him to miss the entire month of February and also kept him out of the 75th NBA All-Star Game.

According to Warriors coach Steve Kerr, Curry is progressing in his recovery but the exact return date remains uncertain.

Kerr explained that the injury has been difficult to manage and that the team is monitoring Curry’s progress carefully before clearing him to play again.

Steve Kerr’s Update on Curry’s Return

Before the Warriors’ game against the New York Knicks, Kerr spoke about Curry’s recovery and said the team is optimistic but cautious.

The Warriors expect Curry to return this season, but Kerr said it is still unclear whether it will happen within a week, two weeks, or longer.

Curry Travels With Warriors on Road Trip

Even though Curry is not playing yet, he has joined the team on its current road trip. Traveling with the team is considered a positive sign because it means he is staying close to the squad during recovery.

The Warriors opened the road trip with a game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, where Curry remained with the team but did not participate in the game.

    Warriors Record Without Curry

Golden State has struggled without its leading scorer. The Warriors currently hold a 32-34 record and sit in ninth place in the Western Conference standings.

Curry normally leads the team in scoring with 27.2 points per game, and his absence has made it harder for Golden State to generate offense consistently.

Additional Injury Problems for Golden State

The Warriors’ situation has become even more difficult because several key players are also unavailable.

Forward Jimmy Butler suffered a torn ACL in his right knee, which ended his season earlier than expected.

Butler appeared in 38 games this season, averaging 20.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists before the injury.

With both stars unavailable, Golden State has struggled to maintain momentum in the playoff race.

    Curry Responds to Retirement Rumors

During his recovery period, some discussions began about Curry’s long-term future in the NBA. However, the four-time champion made it clear that he is not thinking about retirement.

Curry said that basketball still brings him joy and that he continues to feel motivated by competition, teamwork and the pursuit of championships.

His comments reassured Warriors fans that he still intends to keep playing at the highest level.

    Warriors Waiting for Their Leader

The Warriors remain hopeful that Stephen Curry will return soon and help stabilize the team during the final stretch of the season. His scoring, leadership and experience are vital for Golden State’s chances of staying competitive in the Western Conference.

Until he returns, the Warriors will continue searching for ways to stay in the playoff race while managing injuries across the roster.
